In 1949, gambling icon Benny Binion hosted a high-stakes poker marathon between famed gamblers Nicholas 'Nick the Greek' Dandolos, and Johnny Moss. Moss won "the biggest game in town" and an estimated $2 million purse.
21 years later Binion revived the event and dubbed it the "World Series Of Poker" Again, Jonny Moss won.
Last year 2,576 entered the 35th Championship event, playing for a total prize pool of more than $49 million in forty five events.
It is now the biggest, most famous poker event on the planet.
